Never met a tufted sofa I didn't like. Enough said.

Fulfilling Resolutions
I had three unofficial New Year's resolutions for 2009. One was to start a blog...Mission accomplished! The second was to exercise on a regular basis. We got a brand new Wii Fit the other night, so I'll keep you posted on the outcome of that one. Third, I want to learn how to knit. I'm guessing I'll need to start with a scarf...but maybe someday - if I get really good, I could make one of these pillows or dolls?! I'm getting ahead of myself here, but maybe I'll even make them as gifts. If you're anxious to own one - I can promise, you don't want to wait on me! You can find them at Land of Nod, or Bla Bla Kids. Aren't they cute?

Peekin' on Pickin' - Maggie & Kyle's Place
Last summer, we went to a cookout at Maggie and Kyle's place - some friends we met through Church. I absolutely fell in love with their home, and they were gracious enough to give me a complete tour! Recently, I asked if she would mind sharing photos on my blog, and I can't thank her enough for taking the time to photograph their fabulous house! I am so excited to share this special post with you today - so, wipe your feet, and come on in! Please don't forget to sign the guestbook! (a.k.a. Comments)
Maggie told me that it's a Sears Kit Home, and I have created a link so that you can read about its significance. I think you'll find it fascinating. I did!
Maggie and Kyle did a wonderful job renovating the kitchen.
They refer to this room as the "snack shack", because it is right off the kitchen, and the kids like to eat their bedtime snack in here. Cute, huh?!
The living room -
and another one -
I believe the office is right off the living room. I love the black sofa with the green walls.
Don't you just love the chandelier in the dining room?! I think this photo is magazine-worthy.
Another view of the dining room.
The kids' playroom - I love the flags hanging above the windows.
Maggie's craft nook on the second floor - Isn't it wonderful?!
Her inspiration board (and I'm not talking about the one on the left!) -
It would be great to have a fireplace in the Master bedroom.
I don't think I have to tell you - this is a bathroom! I believe Maggie said that is the original tile on the floor. It was so cute.
These next few are from her little girl's bedroom. We're not really sure about the proper name for the bed, but it's so unique.
It opens into a second bed...almost like a trundle.
A few more views of her daughter's room -
The attic space - I believe this is Kyle's "man cave", and the kids have a few of their toys up here as well.
I didn't ask, but I'm guessing it may be used as a guest room at times.
Thanks for visiting, and don't forget to sign the "guestbook"!

Cottage in the Country
I really must have several design clients with different styles. I would love to design a loft in the city, a typical suburban home, something historic, and a farmhouse or cottage in the country. This bathroom and wallpaper would definitely go in the cottage.

Balcony Beauty
Wouldn't you love to drink your morning coffee on this balcony? Or watch the sunset with your lover in the evening? I know I would.

Angelique's Antiques
My dear friend, Angela, opened up an antiques store after Design School, and I am SO excited to share it with you today. Angelique's Antiques is in Hazel, Kentucky - a cute little town full of great shopping and charm. Angela purchased her store with the intentions of transforming the upper level into a loft, which is a work in progress. When the project is complete, I will be begging her to share photos of the upstairs. I have heard about, and even seen some of her ideas for the space, and it's going to be fabulous! If you're ever in the area, you must stop at Angelique's...and I'm sure you won't be able to leave without some incredible treasures!

Hellooooo Yellow!
(Rebecca Thuss)
(Paul Costello)
Yellow is such a happy color! It makes me think of sunshine and lemons. Today, I just wanted to spread the joy.
Felt Food
I am trying to think of some good Spring Break activities to do with my daughter in a couple of weeks. I LOVE these cute goodies made of felt! We actually have the little tea set in the photo, and I don't think it would be very difficult to stitch up the felt tea bags. Aren't they adorable?! I might be able to manage the bow tie pasta as well. The items are available for purchase on ETSY, at the little shop lookmamamadeit.

All About the Backsplash
(Paul Costello)
(Elements of Style)
I just visited my friend Rebekka's new site, Clementine Kitchen, and felt inspired to post some of my favorite kitchen photos (at the moment). Sometimes I think I would be a better cook if I had a better backsplash. At least - that's what I like to tell myself!

One Duvet - 6 Ways!
(Home Companion Magazine)
I purchased the orange and white "Andrea Kakel" duvet a couple years ago, and it seems as though I wasn't the only one! Isn't it interesting to see how the same duvet was used in several different rooms?! It looks like brown and blue are the most popular accent colors. Which room would get your vote?

Have a Sweet Weekend!
(fredflare)
(kangaroom)
The sweet treat to start off this weekend will be a little easier on the diet...less tempting than previous weeks! I don't think the cupcake pouches are very big, so I was thinking they might be cute for holding some small toys, or as a pajama holder. Do you have any other ideas? I don't even own a kitchen timer, so I always use the microwave. I am adding this to my wish list!
