Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Well, I don't know what it's doing at your place, but it couldn't be any gloomier here. It's one of those days where I just didn't feel like getting out of my comfy bed. It's the perfect day for some bright, cheerful pix. Did you notice the plastic flatware in the last photo? I'll link to some previous posts for purchasing information, in case you're interested.

Paint Potential

Yeah, yeah...As Entertainment Weekly claimed - it's "bad in many ways, but hard to hate". I personally enjoyed Mamma Mia! It was the last movie I saw in Lexington before our move, and Angela and I watched it together at the Kentucky Theatre. The scenery was gorgeous, and I love the interior colors. I am adding the wall color below to my paint potentials. Love it!

Hmmmm...

I am starting a little collection of photos for paint color inspiration. I am definitely thinking about something in the green-ish / blue-ish color family. I'm just not sure if I want blue or green to be more dominant. Hmmmm...

I Spy...Something Colorful

(Cottage Living)

I'm sure you have noticed that I love kid rooms - and frankly, I think they're inspiring. Generally, the colors are cheerful, and accessories are just plain fun! I think we're most creative with kid rooms because we want them to remember their personal space as a happy place, and one that inspired them to play for hours. This may sound a little absurd, but it may even be possible that we believe their space will somehow affect what they do, or become in the future - do you think?! Did you notice that these rooms all have the same rug? It's a great one for adding color to any space.
Guess where you can find the rug! Surprised?! (Click on "where" to see the site.)

Cute Color

This seems to be my latest color obsession. I just can't get enough of this palette! My color preferences tend to change with the season, so if you're sick of pastels - you'll have to check back with me in the Fall. These are a few photos of a girl's room that I am loving - for the colors.

LOVE the lantern, rug, floor cushions, color palette...

Cute lamb painting. At least I think it's a lamb! I would love to have my 4-year-old paint something similar on a canvas.

Circus Inspiration

Livingetc. recently claimed that circus-inspired decor is the latest trend. If you're bored with pastels, then this photo is dedicated to YOU!

Oh Domino

I love this laundry room from Domino. I suppose it's the paint color - but I also love black and white against a turquoise-ey blue. Oh how I miss my magazine!

For Future Reference

I am keeping this photo on file, in case my next place is a blue door candidate. There is some paint color information here, if you're a fan as well. What color is your front door?

Vintage Green Appreciation Day

Lately I have been drawn to this color that I like to call "vintage green". I guess it has a little blue in it too - so call it what you want, but I'm liking it at the moment. I noticed that Miss Kate has a few versions of it throughout her home and shops, and I have been seeing it all over blogs and magazines - on everything from walls, to furniture and accessories. It's been around for a while, and I guess I'm finally appreciating it - and publicly! Although I can appreciate the color, I have a hard time appreciating walls with chipping paint. I can deal with "chippy" furniture, but walls is another story! I think the color combination here is quirky and interesting. How do you feel about vintage green? Hot or not?

Ooh's and Ahh's

My "likes" and "dislikes" change every year...sometimes even monthly, weekly, or daily. There are certain styles or pieces that I know I will love forever, and others that make me "ooh and ahh" for a minute, and then I'm over it. I am infatuated with the use of color in this kitchen at the moment, but I'm afraid it isn't true love. I don't know that I could live with these colors for decades, but I am definitely enjoying my moment of infatuation. "Ooh!...Ahh!"
