Ruthi Auda & Anthropologie

I just did a post on ribbon photos yesterday, and when I received the latest Anthropologie catalog in the mail that evening, there were these monster-sized ribbons made of wallpaper! How cool. Those Anthro stylists are so creative. I think that's what you'd call 'em, right?! Stylists? There is a blog that you should really check out if you love Anthropologie's displays and catalogs. I believe that the blogger works as a stylist for several Anthros, and she is so talented! Here is a photo of Ruthi's work.

I really need to hang something above Kalia's bed. Ever since we moved to Indiana, I have just neglected that poor blank wall! These wallpaper letters from Land of Nod are so cute, and at $2.95 per letter, this just might be the perfect solution. I also saw some shabby chic bunting from Target on Such Pretty Things last week, and just love the blogger's little additions. You should really head over to the site so you can see for yourself. It's adorable! I have actually checked Target for the bunting twice now, and they're always sold out. If you live in Indy, leave one on the shelf for me!

Design Appreciation 101

I'm honestly not a huge fan of the table and chairs - at all - but somehow I still enjoyed these photos. I'm not saying I would have the wallpaper in my own home, but I can definitely appreciate it, and hardwood floors are always a good thing. The brick wall really adds some interest to the room, and you know I'm a sucker for chandeliers!

My Confession

For me, this photo conjures up some major feelings. I am going to have to make a confession - so here it goes: I got hooked on ABC's October Road a few years ago, and it was cancelled after the second season...only they never had a chance to wrap things up in a finale, so my only option was to purchase season 2 when it came out on DVD in May. Randy and I have been watching an episode a night for the last few weeks, and were so excited to veg in front of the TV last night with a huge plate of spicy nacho Doritos (drenched in melted cheddar cheese), to get lost in the final episode. (He is going to love me for including him in this confession!)

Well, our "episode" was practically over before we were even able to finish half a plate of Doritos! It ended up being about a 15 minute wrap-up session, and the writers would have been better off just doing a slide show with photos of the cast, and using a cheesy narrator to give an update on each couple. One of the main characters was completely left out, and there was only one good line in the entire finale - it was horrible! The moral of the story is that you should never bother purchasing a DVD of a show that was cancelled - 'cuz chances are, there was a good reason for the cancellation. We found out the hard way.

So you are probably wondering about my confession, and what this photo has to do with any of it - right? Well, the confession was just the fact that I was hooked on the show. It was pretty corny, and some of the acting was rather average, but somehow we still fell in love with the characters - and the whole "small town" vibe. This photo actually reminds me of the wallpaper in Hannah's house, from the show. I loved her place, and that was possibly another factor leading to my disastrous DVD purchase. Actually, all of the interiors were pretty charming. This wallpaper also reminds me of the dressing room at Fossil. So, does anyone have a similar confession, to make me feel better?!

A few hours later...

Okay, it's a little later in the day now, and I have had some time to settle down about my disappointment, and I have to say that maybe I was a little harsh on the show. Honestly, I still love the characters and the overall story, but just wanted to see a little more development in some of the relationships, rather than just their final destiny. I will still claim to be a "roadie" - secretly!

I was peeking at blog archives over the weekend, and saw this adorable photo of Miette on Design Sponge. I realize that it's a "patisserie and confiserie" in San Francisco, but I could live with this paint color and wallpaper in my own place. Magnifique!

Call Me Crazy...

But, I really like this wallpaper! I am taking a bit of a blogging break today (not my usual 2-3 posts), and I'm just going to ask that you leave a comment with any design issues or questions that we could possibly cover in the future. Cottage in the Country

I really must have several design clients with different styles. I would love to design a loft in the city, a typical suburban home, something historic, and a farmhouse or cottage in the country. This bathroom and wallpaper would definitely go in the cottage.

Poor Neglected Closets...

Closets are probably the most neglected spaces in a home. There are so many beautiful wallpapers available, but I think I am afraid of commitment. Applying it to the inside of a closet doesn't seem as drastic, and if I woke up to get ready in such a beautiful atmosphere, I might actually become a morning person!
