The Essence of Shabby Chic

Aaaaaaamazing. I don't know if I want to stand up and cheer like crazy for the stylist and photographer, or just cry because it's so good - it hurts! I love every detail of this wedding shoot. According to Style Me Pretty, the wedding will be featured in Brides Northern California in the Fall/Winter 2009 issue. Did you notice the initials are "A & R"? I'm sure that stands for Abby & Randy - don't ya think?! I want to put those in my house.

I am inspired in SO many ways. I want to bake some cuteness, host a shabby chic party, hit Anthropologie, do some decorating in my kitchen and Kalia's room, pick some peonies, and gather some mismatched chairs. I'm pretty sure I hit the jackpot on inspiration for Kalia's birthday party, too! I'm thinking about having a vintage-ish theme, with lots of pink (her latest favorite color), and old-fashioned candy and games. I can't stop gushing about this wedding shoot. It's just so perfect.

Henna Happiness

I am so fascinated with the beautiful fabrics and colors from this Indian wedding and I think henna is absolutely gorgeous. Oh, and I love Indian cuisine. Yummmmm.

Happy 4th of July!

Obviously I'm a huge fan of Snippet & Ink. The wedding inspiration boards are just so beautiful, and this one happens to be red, white, and blue! I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend...and I will probably have to say farewell until Tuesday. We're off to Chicagoland to celebrate with my parents. The fourth is actually one of my favorite holidays! I'm curious. What are some of your "4th" traditions?

Vintage Prom Dresses

I saw this photo of some bridesmaids on Snippet & Ink, and thought the idea of vintage prom dresses for the wedding party was adorable! I am absolutely not making any hints or suggestions for my friend Sara's wedding, but just enjoyed the pastels and the unique idea. I especially love the pink ones! Remember these vintage prom dresses from Miss Kate's house tour?!

Darling Photo Shoot

These photos were taken by Tec Petaja for the wedding issue of Nashville Lifestyles. I was a little disappointed when I read that it was all staged, 'cuz the couple is so darn cute, and I love their small, intimate, country wedding. Plus, I'm a hopeless romantic, and thought they were truly in love. They had me fooled! Although, in hindsight, the first photo is a little model-esque. Goin' to the Chapel

...and she's gonna get ma-a-a-rried! Sara, one of my very best friends, got engaged over the weekend, and I'm so excited - I just had to share the news! Her fiance gave her a handmade scrapbook of their time together, and the ring was attached to the very last page, with the phrase "Will you marry me?" Cute, huh?! Congratulations, Sara!

Daydreams

Sometimes I daydream about owning a bakery, bed and breakfast, or boutique, and other times I imagine myself as a wedding coordinator. Wouldn't it be fun to help women plan their dream day? I just love these wedding inspiration boards from Snippet & Ink.

Ooooooo, I have an idea! We all love house tours, so what would you think about peeking at some weddings? Anyone interested?!
